Breathe Music works where music, technology, data and AI meet.

We are driven by a passion to support, enable and empower music-makers to create and to earn from their creativity through the employment of ground-breaking new technologies and artificial intelligence.

With bases in Cardiff and London, and working in the CreaTech, DeepTech and CleanTech sectors, Breathe Music was officially launched in Sep 2019.

In phase one of the company’s history founder Jeff Francis sought to identify the key challenges faced by music-makers and the music industry that could be solved by the very latest innovations in AI.

Since 2019 the focus of the business has been on a game-changing, next-generation audio recognition solution that will identify every version, every performance and every cover of every song everywhere.

Having secured significant funding from Innovate UK, Breathe Music is now working with world-leading experts from Queen Mary, University Of London’s Centre For Digital Music to develop this technology.

In 2021 we will reveal the fruits of our in-depth research and development phase, enabling us to demonstrate how our technology will help the streaming services of the future to succeed, the music industry’s collection societies to truly embrace speed and accurate, music rights owners to grow their businesses, and – most important of all – music-makers to get paid.
